Colorfully Striped Hand-painted Paper Hand Fan with Gilded Edge, Presumed Earlier 19th Century coil built This stunning--positively luminousI believe this is an early one (c. 1830s would be my guess), which immediately reminded of my favorite folding fan ever, hand dyed with stripes just like this, but that one stenciled with the letters of the alphabet. No alphabet here, but the colors are beautiful, and with gold along the edge. Closed 9 5 8" x 13 16" x 7 8". Opens to 16 3 4" measured corner to corner.
