Volunteer Reserve Service Medal with HAC Ribbon Campaign_World War II The 1939-45 War Medal wasInstituted in 1999 to replace the Royal Naval Reserve Decoration, the Royal Naval Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, the Efficiency Decoration, the Efficiency Medal and the Air Efficiency Award. At the same time the period of service was reduced to 10 years. This is awarded to all ranks of the reserve forces. This is the HAC version of the medal which has its own distinctive ribbon.
