Alexandrite (Chrysoberyl) garnet excellent shineThe alexandrites from Lake Manyara usually show a slight color change: in daylight they are green blue, while in candlelight they show a slight purple shimmer, especially at fracture points. In long wave UV light, however, they glow red. This alexandrite, which is of excellent quality for the locality, is an almost complete cyclic twin with elongated side surfaces and is therefore comparatively large.
