Attributed to the Salish peoples (Flathead) from the Plateau region of the United States. Constructed of native tanned buckskin (deer hide) and embroidered. Design consists of a series of heart and foliate motifs in red, pink, white, green and purple. The Plateau region consists of present day Oregon, Washington, British Columbia (Canada), Idaho and Montana.
