Found in Maine and surely done on site--I might venture to guess on Monhegan island

11 3/4” x 9” x 2 1/4” and in good condition

at least I believe it is the head of a monkey depicted on this carved piece

Antique Porcelain and Sawdust Stuffed Doll Legs, A Pair ravenna Found in Maine and surelyI believe the porcelain lower legs here, with their hand painted blue bows and brown shoes, date to the 1880s or so, and were carefully sewn onto the sawdust stuffed upper legs which at some point lost their body! Of course I can't resist things like this just as objects, which could also be used as pin cushions, or which could be sold onto a doll needing a lovely pair of legs! The tops are partially open, pinned for now just with small safety pins,
