Up close it reads as if painted a dark red with this black

just some light crazing

They measure 3 1/2" in diameter and 1 1/8" tall and are in very good vintage condition

There is a very faint Germany mark on the underside, which was often used for post war West German pottery while West and East were divided (and clearly this is a mid c. piece, but I am not certain of the maker and havent been able to find its likeness out there. Whatever the case, it takes a pretty striking
