Folk Art Painted Full Plate Tintype of Stern Looking Couple with Bible (in Large Hand!) modernist planter and I am pretty certainI've been eyeing antique painted tintypes like this one lately which I think have a wonderfully surreal sort of strangeness to them so was very happy to find this one at an estate near me this week. A very nice example too, I think, strange feeling indeed, between his hair and beard and her large hands not feeling quite of her body. With what I take for a bible in her hand, painted red and certainly they look like a devout pair! Nice gold painted
