Beautiful Early Slate with Wooden Nails and Tin Wrapped Corner Mend upside down faces though I'm not sure IA beauty of an early handmade slate, earlier 19th c. than later I believe, with carved wooden pegs holding the jointed corners and one beautifully executed wrapped tin corner mend. I do believe antique school slates are a most wonderful thing to collect, each having lived quite a life, with old repairs like this enabling their endurance and making them special. How nice to create a whole wall of beautiful examples. 14" t x 9 3 4" w x 1 2", very good
