Salt fired I believe (which yielded a few shiny areas)

with edge loss to pages and variation to the quality/inking of the woodcut illustrations

printed in 1863 with a different back design and removed backgrounds from the court cards

And unusual in my experience for having the handle extend down from one side rather than the center. Great form, beautiful wear to the handle, sturdy and substantial, lovely. 7 1 4" x 3 1 8" x 3". Excellent antique condition.
