The smooth velvet surface of polished gold juxtaposes a sea of hand placed golden granules. The voluminous shape of this solid gold ring, when viewed from the side, evokes a crescent, both the moon phase and the ancient land area known as the Fertile Crescent. Granulation originated in this land area under the Sumerians more than 5,000 years ago and this ring is made using those
