The Library Carette was among the firstA silver gilt double ended scent bottle, fully hallmarked for silversmith John Harris, London, 1857. The piece was retailed by Thomas Diller of London, with the inside pop up lid having the necessary gold crown. The scent bottle has two lids, one with a pop up mechanism, the other a screw top.
